A-League club Melbourne Victory are expected to soon make an announcement regarding the potential signing of Harry Kewell. Despite setting a deadline of Thursday, August 4, the two-time champions have reportedly left the door open for the former Leeds United, Liverpool and Galatasaray winger and an announcement is due shortly.
Initially there was an ultimatum for Kewell and his management that if a deal was not signed by 5pm AEST Thursday, that the Victory would pull their offer from the table.
But it appears as though something could occur after the Melbourne powerhouse released a statement indicating that they will soon announce whatever outcome is reached with the Australian national team star.
"Melbourne Victory Football Club can confirm that it is in the final stages of discussions with Harry Kewell and his management," the statement read.
"We expect to be in a position to announce an outcome shortly."
