Melbourne Victory head coach Mehmet Durakovic has made it clear that the club has not signed promising goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis.
The 20-year old, whose contract with English giants Liverpool finished recently, Tweeted last week that he was set to join the two-time A-League champions even though the Victory said negotiations were ongoing.
But more recently, Bouzanis posted again that he was actually on his way back to the UK to pursue his career there after talks with the Victory hit a snag.
What's more is that Durakovic said that Bouzanis had not joined Melbourne and said he was happy with his current keeping stocks which include Tando Velaphi who performed brilliantly in the 1-0 loss to Scottish powerhouse Celtic on Wednesday.
"We are looking for a keeper, but we haven't signed anyone. We have not signed Dean Bouzanis," the Victory coach said.
"He was in a different class tonight, absolutely sensational," Durakovic said Velaphi. "He's been different class since day one in the ACL. I cannot praise him more than enough, his saves tonight were outstanding."
