Melbourne Heart v Sydney FC preview

Melbourne Heart are in desperate need of a win after slumping to a third loss in a row on Wednesday night.

John van 't Schip's men were their own worst enemies against the Wellington Phoenix, missing a host of chances which was, in the end, their downfall.

The fledgling club will want to turn things around fairly soon before their debut season starts to get away from them and what a better way to do it than at home against the reigning champions.

Clint Bolton may be joined in the Heart line-up by the returning Simon Colosimo and John Aloisi which will add to the occasion as they were the three lynchpins in Sydney's Championship win last season.

Over in the Sky Blues camp, things would be fairly positive following their 2-0 win over Perth Glory last weekend and the form of striker Alex Brosque will have coach Vitezslav Lavicka brimming. The overall situation of the club is much better now than it was about five weeks ago and a positive result here would get things moving further in an upwards direction.

But the Heart are unlikely to lose four on the trot and I am tipping them to hit back here with a much-needed victory.

Verdict: Heart 2-1
