Melbourne Heart's Sibon gets two match ban

Melbourne Heart forward Gerald Sibon has received a two-match ban following an incident in Friday's Melbourne derby.

The big Dutchman was found guilty of an offence in which he brought down Melbourne Victory midfielder Grant Brebner in an off-the-ball incident in the 54th minute.

The independent Match Review Panel found that Sibon had committed an offence, namely "Assault on a Player (e.g. violent conduct when not challenging for the ball)" against Brebner and proposed a sanction of two matches.

This is the minimum sanction for such an offence. The player has until 2:00pm (AEDT) tomorrow to accept the proposed sanction or refer the matter to a hearing by the FFA Disciplinary Committee on the question of the length of sanction imposed.
