Freshman A-League club Melbourne Heart are looking to take a couple of games on the road next season says CEO Scott Munn.
The Heart enjoyed moderate success in their debut season, finishing eighth and building a strong foundation for the future and now they want to reach out to other parts of the community by playing games in the country city of Morwell at the Latrobe City Sports and Entertainment Complex.
"We are currently exploring all our options, the home and away fixture is not out yet, but we think there is a possibility to play one or two games in Morwell,'' Munn told the Latrobe Valley Express.
"When the fixture comes out all our games will be scheduled to be played at our home ground AAMI Park and then, if we deem it feasible, we will look to move a game to Morwell.''
The Heart took part of their inaugural pre-season to the Latrobe Valley last season and had plenty of interest from the local community.
"Last year's three-day Westpac Community Football Festival demonstrated to us the appetite the area has for football and a market that hasn't been embraced as well as it possibly could have,'' Munn added.
"We think the local stadium in Morwell is fine and one of the best football facilities outside of Melbourne.''
