Melbourne City land Zullo from Utrecht

Melbourne City has announced the signing of Australian international Michael Zullo.

The 26-year-old has joined the A-League club on a one-year deal from Dutch side FC Utrecht, and is likely to feature in City's friendly with Manchester City this Saturday on the Gold Coast.

10-time Australia international Zullo spent five seasons in Holland, but made only 34 appearances as he struggled to gain a spot in Utrecht's first team, and was loaned out to Adelaide United in 2013/14.

Prior to his time in Europe, Zullo made 53 appearances for Brisbane Roar between 2007 and 2010.

"I think Melbourne City has the best setup in Australia right now and think the Club's goals and my goals align pretty well," Zullo told City's official website.

"For me the priorities are to be in a really professional environment and at a club with the ambition to win."
