Melbourne City land Man City pair Brattan, Caceres on loan

Manchester City have sent two players on loan to sister club Melbourne City FC.

Midfielders Luke Brattan and Anthony Caceres have joined the A-League outfit for the 2016/17 season.

26-year-old Brattan arrives in Melbourne having signed for Man City from Brisbane Roar in October last year before joining Bolton Wanderers on loan, where he failed to make an appearance.

Brattan, however, has been training and developing his game at the City Football Academy and insists it has been a beneficial experience.

"My experience in England has been a fantastic one and, thanks to my time at the City Football Academy, I have never felt more prepared for a season," he said.

"I'm delighted to be joining Melbourne City ahead of what I'm sure will be a really exciting season and I can't wait to get started."

Meanwhile, Melbourne City have extended the loan stay of 23-year-old Caceres who joined temporarily from Man City in January immediately after he signed with the Premier League giants.

"Anthony joined us in January and has been an important member of the squad since his arrival," said Melbourne head coach John van 't Schip.

"His performances during the final matches of the regular season have demonstrated his notable talent.

"We are delighted to have these two players on board as we begin our preparations for the new campaign."
