Mel admits his West Brom future hinges on market support

Pepe Mel admits his future as West Bromwich Albion is up in the air.

Mel's future at The Hawthorns is in doubt after a poor Barclays Premier League campaign which petered out with a 2-1 defeat to Stoke City on Sunday.

He said: "I am going to listen to the chairman to find out what he wants for the future. Ten players are out of contract and we will need eight or nine players to come in.

"West Brom still have time to decide whether or not they want next season to be one as full of as many problems as this one."

Mel gave a qualified answer to the question of whether he wished to stay at the club given reported interest from elsewhere.

"Yes - but only in the knowledge that we have lots of possibilities to compete," added Mel.
