Raul Meireles feels Chelsea's title push is on after victory over Manchester City.
Chelsea wrecked City's unbeaten league record on Monday night and moved to within seven points of Roberto Mancini's table-toppers - a gap that would have been 13 points if the visitors had won.
Meireles told The Sun: "We had a wonderful nine days in beating Newcastle, Valencia and City, and fulfilled the challenge we set ourselves.
"It was essential to reduce the difference in points between ourselves and City, and also to show them they are not invincible.
"That was an excellent victory, very good for morale, although we realise there is a long way to go."
