Mehdi Abeid feels his game has rapidly improved since joining Newcastle United last year.
Abeid has two excellent mentors in Yohan Cabaye and Cheick Tiote.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "When you play and train alongside top players it helps you to get better.
"Hopefully, training with the first-team players will help me to improve, and it's up to me to show the manager that I have a long future ahead of me at the club.
"I want to stay here and fight for my place, and hopefully I will get my chance to show what I can do for Newcastle.""That's great for me because I am young and hopefully have a long career ahead of me, so playing with the kind of talented players that we have at the club can only benefit me."
