Hibernian captain James McPake wants he and his teammates to write their own history for the Edinburgh club.
Hibs were the first British club to compete in European competition back in 1955 and defender McPake hopes they can re-write that past as they look to qualify for the Europa League proper with the first of a two-legged fixture with Swedish side Malmo on Thursday.
"I know all about Hibs' history in Europe. I wasn't a Hibs fan when I came here but you learn," said McPake of the Hibs side which made it to the semi-finals of the 1955/56 European Cup.
"We want to have a successful Euro run and get our own pictures up on the walls.
"Hibs belong on this stage. I've said this club has underachieved recently and I stand by that after last season.
"European football is your aim.
"It's for the top clubs in your country and we are one of the top clubs in Scotland."
