Kevin McNaughton admits penning a new deal with Cardiff was a difficult decision.

The fullback inked a new one-year deal earlier this week.

McNaughton told the Western Mail: "There were Championship clubs interested in signing me and I gave them full consideration.

"It was a difficult decision because I didn't play in all of the matches last season. But it's been my dream for so long now to play for Cardiff at Premier League level and this is the chance.

"There was no way I want to look back at the end of my career and think that I never gave the Premier League a crack with Cardiff City."
