Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara was thrilled with the way his side played despite losing 4-3 to Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
The Arabs were beaten in extra-time by the Hoops even though they led 2-1 during regular time but McNamara was proud of the way his charges went about their business at Hampden Park.
"Disappointed to lose but I couldn't have asked for any more and I'm proud of the lads today, they gave us everything," he said.
"I thought the players were exceptional, every one of them. They gave everything they had and caused Celtic problems."
But McNamara suggested that Celtic had a bit of luck in their win with Gary Mackay-Steven not being awarded a penalty under a challenge from Victor Wanyama and Kris Commons' second goal coming with an element of handball.
"I thought Gary got his body in the right position," added McNamara. "And their second goal was a bit dubious.
"It hit Commons on the hand, although he maybe didn't know much about it. But, again, there is no point in crying about it."
