Tommy McLean fancies the challenge of keeping Kilmarnock in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League after emerging as a candidate to take over as interim manager. The 62-year-old is currently part of Scotland's youth coaching staff and has confirmed he would be interested in the role following the departure of Jim Jefferies.
A former Kilmarnock player, McLean was also manager of Motherwell and Dundee United.
He told the Scottish Sun: "Kilmarnock is a club close to my heart.
"The job would interest me but until I speak to the chairman in more detail I can't say any more."
