McKay, Murdocca and Nichols all commit to Brisbane Roar

A-League leaders Brisbane Roar have been given a huge boost with the re-signing of three star players.

Club captain Matt McKay and livewire midfielder Massimo Murdocca have both penned three-year deals whilst promising youngster Mitch Nichols has signed on for two more seasons.

Roar coach Ange Postecoglou admitted it was great news for the club that three of its key players had pledged their allegiance to the Brisbane cause.

"It is a tremendous vote of confidence in the direction that the club is heading and it will give a great boost to everyone involved with the club and especially our supporters that three of our most popular players will be in Brisbane colours over the next few years," Postecoglou said.

"I am obviously pleased with our progress this year but I see this as only the beginning of what we hope will be the club's most successful period.

"The lessons learned from the A-League are that you need stability to build success and our aim is to be consistently competitive which is why we have secured the majority of our squad for the next 2 or 3 years."
