St Johnstone manager Derek McInnes held talks with Championship club Bristol City on Monday but it is uncertain on whether he will take the job at Ashton Gate.
McInnes has said he is 'reluctant' to leave McDiarmid Park but wanted to see what Bristol, who sacked Keith Millenm earlier this month, had to say.
A statement on St Johnstone's official website confirmed McInnes had been for talks in South West England but made it clear that a decision was far from being made.
"As is widely known, manager Derek McInnes is in Bristol today putting his case forward to be appointed as Bristol City's next manager but things are far from cut and dried," the statement read.
