Scotland goalkeeper Allan McGregor has been ruled out for five weeks after tearing his groin on Wednesday night.
The 30-year old Besiktas man was forced off the Easter Road pitch just after 20 minutes of action in the eventual 3-1 win over Australia and will now miss Scotland's first two 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
Craig Levein's side take on Serbia on September 8 at Hampden Park before again hosting Macedonia three days later but will be without their number one gloveman whose injury was confirmed by his Turkish club.
"After the MRI scan the Scottish team doctors reported that his groin was torn and bleeding," said Besiktas doctor Ismail Basoz.
"We are awaiting the full report on the injury from them, but it looks like there will be five weeks recovery time.
"The player will come to Istanbul tomorrow to start his treatment."
