Celtic striker Scott McDonald has been awarded the Scottish Premier League Player of the Month. The Australian star has been in brilliant form in the SPL but is pursuing more important things that individual success.
"I didn't quite expect it but it's always nice to pick up awards," he said.
"It's another one to my little collection and hopefully there are a few more to come.
"It's always nice to pick up individual awards but more than anything it would be nice to pick up another trophy at the end of the season.
"It gives you a little kick-on in confidence when people acknowledge you have been playing well.
"I'm feeling good about myself at the moment, coming off the back of a successful trip away with Australia.
"We only need one point and we've qualified for the World Cup. We've almost booked our ticket, which is a great feeling.
"It's nice to be a part of that. It would be great to continue playing for my country but the only way I can do that is by playing well for Celtic."
