Scott McDonald scored in Celtic's Champions League third round qualifier win over Dinamo Moscow overnight. The Scottish giants went into the away tie 1-0 down after losing at home last week but managed to fight their way back into the second leg and eventually take it out 2-0 (2-1 on aggregate).
Socceroos striker McDonald leveled the two-leg tie moments before half-time with a well-taken header at the back post from an Andreas Hinkel cross.
McDonald almost added a second in the 62nd minute but his 20-yard strike went wide of the mark.
It seemed like the match was headed for extra-time until Georgios Samaras came to the rescue for the Hoops after being substituted on for McDonald in the 79th minute.
The Greece international received a pass from Hinkel inside the box, weaved past three defenders and slotted past Dinamo goalkeeper Vladimir Gabulov for a 90th minute winner and Celtic's first away win in Europe for six years.
McDonald's Socceroos teammate, Luke Wilkshire, could not inspire the Russian outfit despite playing a full 90 minutes.
