McDonald keen to get off the mark in Melbourne

Scott McDonald would love to score his first goal for the Socceroos in Melbourne tomorrow night. The Socceroos were presented to fans at Melbourne's Federation Square this afternoon and when MC Simon Hill spoke to McDonald he was wary to ask the Celtic star about his goal drought.

But McDonald mentioned it first, saying, "It will be great to play in front of 70-80,000 people. I haven't played at 'G (MCG) yet so it will be great to perhaps score my first goal in front of so many people.

"Of course it would be good just to win but if I could get a goal then it would make it even better.

"I enjoy the big stage and this is another opportunity on the big stage so hopefully it works out."

Hill also asked McDonald about Celtic's upcoming clash with Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium in July and the striker was excited about the event.

"It will be a fantastic opportunity for people all around Australia to come and see Celtic and I'm sure there will be many supporters there, and if they aren't Celtic fans I'm sure there will be a few Rangers fans there," he added.
