McCoist confident Rangers' Scotland absentees fit for Old Firm

Rangers' absentees for Scotland's 1-1 draw with Croatia last night are expected to be fit for the Old Firm clash this weekend.

Barry Ferguson, the Scotland captain, and his Ibrox team-mates Allan McGregor, Christian Dailly and Lee McCulloch all withdrew from George Burley's first squad.

But Gers No2 Ally McCoist said: "We have got injury problems, it's a fact. Barry has been to see a specialist last week and, thankfully, he doesn't need an operation. But has been short of 100% fit for some time.

"Lee is the same; he's had a thigh strain for a couple of weeks. Christian has a fracture in his wee toe and Allan McGregor has a little bit of puffiness around his knee.

"We'll monitor their progress, but I'd be hopeful the majority of them will be involved at the weekend, but it is clear to see that they have been struggling a little bit with injury."
