Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren has implored two of his key players to start showing some more consistency.
Gini Wijnaldum and Moussa Sissoko were in a damaging mood on Sunday as the Magpies scored their first win of the Premier League season with a 6-2 result over Norwich City at home.
Dutch winger Wijnaldum scored a remarkable four goals in the convincing triumph while French midfielder Sissoko produced three assists as the Toon delivered in style and although he was absolutely delighted with the performance, manager McClaren is now looking for the pair to produce more of the same as the season progresses.
"That's the $64million question. It's sustainability, it's consistency and we have talked about that," said McClaren.
"We have been threatening for 45 minutes against Chelsea and Manchester City, terrific, and not maintained it, no consistency.
"Today over the 90 minutes, we were not really consistent, but [scored] devastating goals, and consistency is the key in individual performances and team performance, so it's no good playing like that one week...
"Moussa is so powerful running, and we have told him, 'Just don't stop running, just keep running with or without the ball', and the same with Gini.
"We were quite devastating on the break."
