Former England boss Steve McClaren suffered defeat on his debut with Wolfsburg last night.
Germany World Cup star Bastian Schweinsteiger struck a late winner for reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
Thomas Mueller had given Bayern an early lead before Edin Dzeko equalised in the 55th minute.
But with McClaren's men looking likely to secure an impressive point, Schweinsteiger knocked home a long ball from Franck Ribery.
Former Manchester United assistant boss McClaren said: "It was the worst way to lose. We got kicked good and proper.
"We gave Bayern too much respect in the first half, we were more positive in the second half and got our rewards.
"We weren't good enough in the end."
