Former England boss Steve McClaren is favourite for the managerial vacancy at Nottingham Forest after Billy Davies was sacked with immediate effect. For the second successive season the former Preston and Derby manager was unable to secure promotion to the Premier League despite clinching a play-off place.
The Championship outfit have confirmed on their official website that they are talking to McClaren about the vacancy.
McClaren has most recently been linked with the vacant Aston Villa job but could return to the English game after mixed success with FC Twente and Wolfsburg.
