Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri played down Ezequiel Lavezzi's strop during their stalemate with Cagliari.

Lavezzi was irritable throughout the match and furious at his substitution, hurling his shin pads at a wall.

"He probably wasn't happy with his performance," shrugged Mazzarri.

"When I see a player who isn't having a good day, I tend to try someone else. Intelligent players reflect on their performances. Lavezzi is crucial for me, but today he didn't give his best."
