Mazzarri plays down argument between Watford pair Deeney and Okaka in Chelsea loss

Watford boss Walter Mazzarri has played down the argument which took place between his players Troy Deeney and Stefano Okaka following the 4-3 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian manager revealed that he didn't witness the altercation, but he played down the importance of the incident by insisting that both Deeney and Okaka are good friends.

The Hornets produced a monumental effort to came back from 3-1 down to draw the score level. However, Cesc Fabregas' 88th minute goal ensured that the champions finish with three points.

"I didn't realise [it had happened] to be honest. I was angry with the referee because there were two fouls before their goal which penalised us," Mazzarri told Sky Sports.

"There was a moment where we could have scored with Behrami and Janmaat before then where we could have won the game. This didn't happen so we were all very nervous.

"They (Deeney and Okaka) are friends, they are always together and they joke with each other"

"Nobody told me anything about what happened. I also want players with character, players to talk to each other on the pitch and off it.

"I will investigate tomorrow, but I do not think there was anything in it."
