Stefano Mauri admits he's excited playing for the current Lazio team.

The Biancocelesti are in joint third place with Napoli and only four points adrift of Roma in second.

"As I had said in pre-season training, this is the best Lazio team I've played in," the 35-year-old declared on Lazio Style Radio.

"Now the squad is so united, there's a mix of youth and experience that is proving to be very effective.

"However, playing football in Rome it's better to keep your feet on the ground. Enthusiasm is welcome, but the match against Torino is fundamental and we must remain concentrated."
