Matt Targett is on the brink of signing new terms with Southampton.
The Mirror says Southampton are close to tying down their latest starlet Targett on a new five-year contract.
Saints, who developed and sold Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain previously, cashed in on Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana and Calum Chambers in last summer's transfer exodus.
But they have held positive negotiations this month with defender Targett, who is tipped to be Shaw's long-term successor at left-back.
