Matri determined to make most of Juventus move

Alessandro Matri is determined to make the most of his move to Juventus.

The Cagliari striker has joined Juve on-loan to the end of the season with the view to a permanent deal in June.

Matri said: "As a child my idol was Marco Van Basten, then when I was growing up I had an affection for Christian Vieri.

"I am satisfied with the amount of money that Juve have paid for me. It's a wonderful gesture and now I have to show that I am worth all of it.

"There was a fun conversation with Cagliari President Massimo Cellino. He jokingly told me that if I were to stay at Cagliari I would earn double.

"However, I wanted to go to Juve and take the chance of my career so far. I have seen Juventus do well for a large part of the season, then they've had problems on account of injuries which have conditioned their performances.

"I want to fit into this dressing room well. There are many Italians and I will have no problem adapting. The sensations are good.

"I am ready to make my debut but it's up to the Coach to decide. I am here to measure myself against the best and to make a big jump in class.

"Now I want to see if I am ready for this big step. In these situations it's the pitch that does the talking and I hope to show my worth immediately.

"I asked Cellino to let me go to Juve because it was the chance of a lifetime, a chance that I have pursued since I started to play.

"Cellino told me that he would do everything to make me happy and he has done it. I would like to thank him again for this reason."
