Matic: Man Utd dominated Liverpool in second-half

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic adamant they could've taken a point from Liverpool on Sunday.

Virgil van Dijk broke the deadlock in the first half before Mohamed Salah scored a second with the last kick of the game for Liverpool's 2-0 triumph.

Anthony Martial had an excellent chance to equalise after the interval but blazed over and Matic insists they should have got something from the game.

Matic told MUTV: "On the pitch, we felt, 'We are in the game, we can score, we can create'.

"I think we played some good football. In the last 35 to 40 minutes, we were the better side.

"But it's hard. If you don't score against this kind of team it's hard to draw or to win.

"I think everyone on the pitch from our team felt that we were in control, completely in control, so that's the model of how we should always play against top teams."
