Matic: Chelsea cannot be happy with Sunderland blank

Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic says they cannot be satisfied with their 0-0 draw at Sunderland.

Matic believes his side's failure to find the net for the first time since May's goalless stalemate against relegated Norwich simply wasn't good enough and will have to be rectified when Tottenham visit in midweek.

The big Serbian said: "They were compact - they were on the 16 (yard line) with 10 players. It was difficult to find a space there. We didn't find the space, but in the next game this cannot happen - we have to score."

Asked about Gus Poyet's well organised team, he said: "They played well I think. We didn't play bad. We controlled the game. I don't know much was possession of the ball, but I feel comfortable on the pitch and I think for 90 minutes we control.

"Of course now every team is going to defend. And we know that, and we are ready for that. We will find a space to score.

"We are not happy with one point, but a 0-0 result is a result. And better to get one than to go home with zero points.

"So, the season is long enough that these kind of things can happen, and it's OK. It is not a great result, but it is still a result."
