Juan Mata insists Valencia can achieve big things this season.

The former Real Madrid midfielder said: "Inside the dressing room, the players feel we can do something great this season.

"We know we haven't played well so far, but there is a belief that we can win some trophies this season if we play to our best."

Mata added: "I'm very pleased to have already made my debut. I could have left on-loan, but I always wanted to stay."
