Mata: Liverpool win my best game in a Man Utd shirt!

Juan Mata feels he produced his very best Manchester United performance on Sunday.

The Spanish midfielder, 26, suggests his two-goal showing in the 2-1 victory over arch rivals Liverpool at Anfield is his best moment in a Red Devils shirt.

Mata, who arrived at Old Trafford from Chelsea in January 2014, scored clinically with his right foot in the 14th minute before conjuring a stunning side volley with his trusty left just before the hour-mark to lead United to a famous triumph.

"I think it's my best game in a United shirt, yes. It's a massive game, probably the biggest in English football, so to score two goals is great for me," he told Sky Sports.

"The second goal has to be up there with my best.

"After Steven Gerrard was sent off we needed a second goal because they pushed us to the end.

"It was important for me. The last few months I've not had the best moment. It is the manager who decides but I'm happy today."
