Barcelona have confirmed that Javier Mascherano has completed on a deal which sees him stay with the Catalan club until 2019.

A club statement read: "Javier Mascherano put pen to paper on his improved contract extension with FC Barcelona that will keep him at the club until 30 June 2019."
