Martinez: Barry could be with Everton for next decade!

Everton boss Roberto Martinez sees Gareth Barry as a ten year signing!

Barry turned 32 in February but appears as hungry as ever and the former Wigan boss reckons he could even feature in the Premier League for another EIGHT years - at least.

"I think Gareth can play up to his 40s," Martinez added.

"When you rely on your pace or your physical attributes that limits your time and at what age you can play at that level.

"Gareth is the opposite. The older he gets, he becomes even more experienced and reads the game better. His tactical awareness is second to none.

"The longer he plays and the older he gets, he will be able to influence the team in a different way, like Ryan Giggs has done at Manchester United.

"I do feel he is a young 32 and he has got quite a few more years at the highest level.

"Maybe he will even drop back to where he started and play as a left-sided centre-back and see the game in front of him."
