Chad Marshall is looking to keep his consistent form rolling along when he turns out for Seattle Sounders in 2014.
The 29-year old central defender has been traded to the Sounders from Columbus Crew after spending ten years in Ohio where he was named MLS Defender of the Year in both 2008 and 2009.
Marshall has been a mainstay in the heart of the Crew defence for a decade and says he is determined to bring that to CenturyLink Field from next season onwards.
"I still feel like I'm in top form," Marshall told Seattle's official website. "I kind of pride myself on my consistency in my play, and I felt like I had a good year for the Crew last year, so I'm hoping to bring that to Seattle."
And Marshall added that he is looking forward to again working with Sigi Schmid who was head coach when he began his career with Columbus.
"That was definitely a big part of it. We had a successful time with Sigi here in Columbus when he was here, myself included in that-being Defender of the Year in 2008 and the year after he left in 2009," he added.
"I'm excited to work with him. He's a very demanding coach and I think he gets the best out of his players. I definitely am looking forward to working with him again."
