Marseille score vital late away goal in Benfica

Marseille will go into the return leg of their Europa League Round of 16 clash with Benfica with a slight advantage after conjuring a late away goal.

The French outfit looked like going down to the Portuguese after Benfica defender Maxi Pereira put his side in front in the 77th minute with a shot from six yards which gave Steve Mandanda no chance.

But in a slight twist, Marseille went from being down and out to up and about when substitute Hatem Ben Arfa came on and knocked home a header from a Laurent Bonnart cross in the 90th minute to put Didier Deschamps' charges into the driving seat for the return leg in France.
