Marseille's Barton: I've experienced Manchester and Tyne-Wear derbies so nothing fazes me

Joey Barton is not feeling any anxiety ahead of Marseille's clash with Paris Saint-Germain in France's Ligue 1 this weekend.

The QPR midfielder, who is on a season-long loan at the Stade Velodrome, is getting set to take on league leaders PSG in a huge match on Sunday but insists he is not perturbed by the magnitude of the fixture after experiencing massive derbies in England.

"I've experienced Manchester City-Manchester United, Sunderland-Newcastle and QPR-Chelsea," he said.

"The electric atmosphere doesn't worry me, it's even the norm for me. I am experienced, I know the score. There's nothing me for me in a derby.

"The season has already given a lot of surprises and twists. And we're not the types to give up. Nor are (second-placed) Lyon.

"We remain motivated and concentrated even if we haven't been very strong in recent matches.

"This week could change our season."
