Olympique Marseille president Vincent Labrune says Joey Barton has long been planning his escape from QPR.

The 32-year-old spoke before the City game about "one or two bad eggs" that have spoiled QPR's season and it seems he has no intention of remaining at Loftus Road.

Labrune told the Daily Mail: "The agent called me last week to offer me Joey for next year but I don't think so.

"We are focused on the young players. We love Joey here, he left us with fantastic memories, but no, the only market we are interested in from England is the very young player."
