Marseille president Pape Diouf has no regrets sending Djibril Cisse on-loan to Sunderland.
"I do not have any regret [regarding Cisse]," Diouf told Sport. "We could not do differently. Djibril has such a status that he must play.
"Moreover, he showed signs of impatience early on this season and did not understand why he was not in the starting XI.
"He could have stayed at Marseille but as I gave him my word before last season You have to know it has been very difficult for him. There was a total incomprehension between the public and him."
