Olympique Marseille have opened talks with Arsenal for Matteo Guendouzi.
The France U21 captain has just completed a season-long loan with Hertha Berlin in Germany, which was cut short two weeks early due to a metatarsal fracture.
La Provence says Marseille are keen to bring Guendouzi back to France for the new season and Arsenal are ready to do business.
Negotiations have now kicked off, with the Gunners favouring an immediate cash sale.
OM management plan to sell Boubacar Kamara this summer and replace him with Guendouzi.
