Uefa have charged Marseille after an object was thrown at Liverpool's Steven Gerrard during their Champions League meeting.

Liverpool's 1-0 win over Marseille at Anfield on Wednesday night was marred by the incident late in the first half as Gerrard prepared to take a corner in front of the visiting fans when a cigarette lighter was reportedly thrown.

Marseille will answer the case at a meeting of Uefa's control and disciplinary panel on 11th December.
