Olympique Marseille captain Dimitri Payet hopes his relationship with West Ham United fans has thawed.
Payet is back in London today for OM's Champions League group opener at Tottenham.
Asked about his Irons background, he said, "The Premier League allowed me to realise a dream. It's a dream championship. Even more today when we see the teams that are only getting stronger. I lived a year and a half full of emotions.
"Afterwards, I don't regret it (leaving). It was a personal and family choice.
"It was a choice for me and my family. The departure (in 2015) was rather abrupt, but with these years passed, I hope that the supporters of West Ham understand my decision."
