NK Maribor's complaint to UEFA regarding the eligibility of Rangers' new signing Carlos Bocanegra was dismissed by UEFA.
But that will not stop the Slovenian club from making an appeal as they feel have grounds to win the case following their unsuccessful objection.
Bocanegra signed with 'Gers last Wednesday night before making his debut in last Thursday's Europa League play-off first leg in Maribor and the Slovenians want to know why he was eligible for that match but not the Scottish Premier League meeting with Aberdeen last Sunday.
Club spokesman Zeljko Latin made it clear that Maribor will appeal but said it would only occur following tonight's second leg at Ibrox.
"At the moment, we are only here to play the game against Rangers," said Latin.
"We made the protest to Uefa because we felt we should. I can't comment at the moment on what we will do next or whether we will exercise our right to appeal.
"We have three days from Wednesday afternoon to do that, but we will play the game first."
