Fiorentina are being urged to keep hold of goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano.

Viviano has been outstanding for the Viola this season.

"I think that Fiorentina should confirm Viviano for next season," Gianmatteo Mareggini, a former Viola custodian, told Firenze Viola.

"The role of the goalkeeper is a particular one and it causes problems for a team if they bring in a new 'keeper every season.

"A goalkeeper needs time to find the right understanding with his defence and with the Coach," he continued.

"Look when I was at the club, a certain Francesco Toldo took a few years to mature. That is what Viviano is looking to do and he'll only get it by playing football."
