Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio hopes to be back in action by mid-November.
Marchisio damaged his knee last week on Italy duty and required surgery.
"The objective is to be ready for mid-November, but everything will be done within the parameters set by the doctors and not rushing it. The important thing is to recover fully," he told the Juventus website.
"I am happy with the way things are going. The day after the surgery it did hurt a bit, but now I am already walking without crutches and have started physiotherapy."
It is the first major injury in Marchisio's career, but he already shows maturity beyond his age.
"Obviously it is disappointing to be out of action now, but I am looking on the bright side. If this injury had occurred later on in the season, it would've been much worse.
"I received many warm messages from everyone, especially the fans, and I can only thank them for standing by me with such affection."
