Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini admits he tried to sign Paul Pogba for Manchester City.

At the time, Pogba was leaving Manchester United, but hadn't agreed terms with Juventus.

Mancini told Gazzetta TV: "We were about to get him and we'd had a meeting with Raiola, but I don't know why it didn't go through.

"He reminded me of (Patrick) Vieira. But the Premier League also lost other top players like (Gerard) Pique."
