Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini cannot stress how important it is for Manchester City to claim that final Champions League spot. City have five games left to guarantee that they take fourth spot, with Tottenham their only remaining challengers for the final Champions League position.
And Mancini believes that although his side are in pole position, they must pick up points in each of their remaining games, starting at home against bitter rivals United.
Mancini said: "These are important games. The last month of the season will be fantastic for us.
"After Saturday we have four games left and they are going to be the most important in the history of the club."
"It is imperative we finish in fourth because we can change the way we are going.
"It would put us in the Champions League next year and that would make it easier to get the players we want."
