Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini is set to hand two signings their debuts tonight against Coppa Italia opponents Napoli.
New signings Davide Santon and Marcelo Brozovic could make their Inter debuts.
"Santon is fine, he needs to train," Mancini said.
"He won't play 90 minutes tomorrow, but he'll feature during the game.
"Brozovic from the start? Probably.
"We're playing after three days, then there's another one in four days so there will be changes.
"As for Kovacic, his problems are purely down to his age.
"He wants to do too much, he wants to take the ball and touch it seven times. He doesn't need to.
"He can do seven touches [in total] on the edge of the box and be decisive. These are normal difficulties for a lad who can become very good."
