Mancini losing influence at Inter Milan

La Repubblica says the coach has lost the confidence of senior members of his dressing room, including Patrick Vieira, Luis Figo, Hernan Crespo and Ztalan Ibrahimovic.

After their 2-2 draw with Siena on Sunday, Mancini's post-match rant at his players has been quoted in today's press:

"You were all wrong, playing without your heads. For example, Marco (Materazzi) you ... you should not have taken that penalty. (Julio) Cruz takes those, the rules are there and you must respect them. But you have not been the only one to make mistakes, there's others who have not done what they were supposed to do.

"But now talk is useless, we must begin to focus on next Sunday. Henceforth, there's no excuses. There is another game, the last one we have. We begin to prepare for it on Tuesday."

It's also revealed Materazzi sat on his own, silent, with his head in his hands for 45 minutes after his spotkick gaffe, before he left the dressing room to take his drug tests.
